Updated: Apr 5

[Washington DC, March 13, 2024] - We celebrate our successful participation in the inaugural Hispanic Voices Summit for Human Rights, hosted by AMAVEX lead by Helene Villalonga. The event, held from March 11th to March 12th at the esteemed office of the Organization of American States in Washington DC, marked a pivotal moment in our organization's journey.

During the summit, Venezuela Marka Foundation had the distinct honor of showcasing its transformative project, which offers a sanctuary for immigrant youth to reconnect with their cultural roots. Through dance, community engagement, and advocacy, we provide a nurturing environment that feels like a home away from home, empowering young individuals to embrace their heritage and drive positive social change.

Our project also plays a crucial role in combatting human trafficking by offering support and resources to vulnerable immigrant communities. By providing a safe and supportive environment, we empower youth to recognize their own value and resist exploitation.

At the summit, we had the privilege of meeting Carla Angola, an esteemed Venezuelan journalist and unwavering advocate for human rights. Her inspirational presence reinforced our commitment to championing human rights and social justice through our work, serving as a powerful reminder of the impact we can achieve together.

Additionally, Venezuela Marka Foundation seized the opportunity to network with other NGOs dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities. Among the other speakers were defenders of human rights from across Latin America, shedding light on the issues and challenges faced by our communities.

Furthermore, we had the honor of meeting the General Secretary of the Organization of American States, Dr. Luis Almagro, a strong advocate for human rights in Latin America. His support and dedication to the cause further inspired us to continue our mission of empowering future generations and fostering a brighter future for all while continuing the fight against human trafficking.
